CHAKKIRI NORIO - (Japan)

Singer, composer and improviser, choreographer and multi-instrumentalist (Japanese traditional string instrument shamisen, Jap. traditional harp, Jap. drums, and other instruments...)

He comes from the Land of the Rising Sun, from a city at the foot of mount Fudji - Shizuoka. He has been playing traditional Japanese instruments and dancing since he was three years old.

He was studying under an Indian sitar player Kishor Gosh (student and successor of Ravi Shankar), with whom he often performs on tour in Asian, but also European countries. He has been leading his own music television show for ten years.
He also performed for Dalai Lama during his visit to Japan.

In the Czech Republic he performs regularly every year since 2002 - Days of Japanese culture in the Czech Republic. In 2004 he performed with great success in club Roxy as a guest of French electronic music band “LEVELRISE”; he performed on a happening “DANCE FEST” in Letensky manor house with the above mentioned band; in Palace Acropolis with his own recital - guest IVAN Myslikovjan performing on alto saxophone and EWI). He made a promotional live show in two most prestigious radios in Prague - RADIO EXPRES & RADIO1.
During his stay in the Czech Republic in 2004 he recorded an album called “NEW WORLD” in cooperation with IVAN Myslikovjan.

Concert performance CHAKKIRI NORIO has a captivating, almost mythical touch to it and it takes us to ancient history of Japan. His guttural performance of songs of Tibetan monks, aliquot songs filled with the power of concentration and meditation will make you feel as if you were flying. This performance is nevertheless filled with dedication to music and sheer joy of creation.

Since 1995 he has recorded and produced nine solo CDs, two of them in Germany.

Represents prestigious French music companies: Selmer-Paris, Vandoren-Paris a B.G. France.

He performs in clubs and on festivals in Czech Republic and abroad.

He recorded a number of television and radio broadcast and shows.

In 2000, he establishes ”jazz fusion” group “BLUE BIRDS” and enters the Czech musical dance scene of DJs & French band LEVELRISE. He is known there under name Ivan M. and pseudonym *e1*

IVAN Myslikovjan is currently preparing: production of Patrick Bergman album “DANCE IMPRESSIONS”, world music album with Japanese multi instrumentalist Chakkiri Norio called “NEW WORLD” an album of original pieces Blue Birds and releasing the CD “TWO”...

He says: “I don’t like to divide music into genres. The heart and the sincerity that I must sense into the music are important to me. I love a change and movement, joy from creation and joy from meeting of people...”
